PowerPoint© Tutorials
CheModules are tutorials in PowerPoint© that use
mini-lectures and short learning checks to continually check your understanding and
progress. I have written several CheModules to help you learn the chemistry concepts
typically found in the allied health and preparatory chemistry courses.

Learning and Teaching with
CheModules
These PowerPoint slides can be used by students to
review lecture, to provide a self paced learning program with the Timberlake text.
Instructors may use CheModules for classroom use. Using the LecturePLUS learning
and teaching system that I have developed, the CheModules, the PowerPoint©
notes, and the Team Work Sheets become a student-centered learning program for the
chemistry classroom. In each presentation, the Learning Checks actively involve
students in the immediate application of chemical principles.
Benefits of CheModules
The benefits of such a program is that students move
at their own pace and assessment tools such as learning check provide constant feedback.
Peer group discussions provide continuous correction of student's models of
chemistry. Small corrections made early provide a basis for students to construct
their ideas and to prepare for exams.
